IL- 11 Debbie Halvorson (D)
Endorsed by the Sierra Club, Halvorson is a strong advocate of renewable energy as part of the fight to stop global warming, become energy independent and improve the environment. She believes in raising fuel efficiency standards and creating green jobs, and earned a 100% from the Illinois League of Conservation Voters in 2007.
IL-18 Aaron Schock (R)
A strong supporter of E85 ethanol, Schock said wants to increase the price farmers get for their crops; provide more homegrown energy, thereby reducing the need for imported oil; and bring down the price of gasoline at the pump. He also wants congressional funding to make river improvements and specifically to rebuild the locks and dams on the Illinois and Mississippi rivers. Schock has voted against a 25% by 2025 renewable electricity standard in Illinois.
