Clair Tappaan Lodge

Recreation

Clair Tappaan Lodge is open to the public year-round. In addition to the scheduled activities, the Lodge is an excellent base camp for the many local recreation opportunities in the vicinity of Donner Pass.

Kicking the summer off at Clair Tappaan Lodge and enjoying the outdoors has never been more exciting! Before you take off on your outdoor adventure, check out the LOWA Boot Center and try on a brand new pair of boots. For every pair of boots that are demoed, LOWA will make a contribution to the Sierra Club to help reduce Clair Tappaan Lodge’s dependence on fossil fuel. For the more adventurous, bring along LEKI trekking poles and a Delorme inReach Satellite Communicator. Take a picture of yourself with the ExOfficio BugsAway mannequins, post it on ExOfficio’s Facebook page and they will send you a Free ExOfficio BugsAway Bandana! And don’t forget to stop by the dining hall to check out If You Care products. On behalf of SIERRA Magazine and Clair Tappaan Lodge, we hope you enjoy our custom demo center and most of all ENJOY THE SUMMER!

Winter

In the winter, you can rent equipment at the Lodge and cross-country ski right from the back door. The Lodge is also very close to premier downhill ski areas. Find out more about winter recreation at CTL.
