THE SIERRA CLUB Appalachian Ohio Group (AOG)
The Sierra Club Appalachian Ohio Group covers 14 counties, comprised of over 500 members, supporters, and volunteers. We're one of seven groups within the Ohio Chapter representing all of Appalachian Ohio. We are a part of the Ohio Chapter which advocates for energy efficiency, renewable energy, and public transit. We proudly defend Ohio’s forests, state parks, and nature preserves. We preserve water resources by advocating for green infrastructure, factory farm regulation, and protections for the Wayne National Forest and our State Parks and Forests and watersheds throughout the state. Finally, we promote Ohio’s transition to a 21st-century economy through the creation of good-paying, long-standing green jobs.
Since 1892, the Sierra Club has been working to protect communities, wild places, and the planet itself. We are the largest, oldest environmental advocacy and lobbying organization in the United States, which includes over one million members and supporters.
