Green jobs are jobs that create, run and support a clean energy economy and which pay decent wages and provide benefits that can support a family. Whether it's producing the steel blades for wind turbines, manufacturing clean energy products, installing solar panels, conducting energy audits or engaging in sustainable construction, green jobs fight global warming and move the United States towards energy independence.
It has been projected that a $100 billion investment in the greening of our economy over the next two years would create 2 million new jobs nationwide. Investment in green jobs would create four times more jobs then spending that same $100 billion within the oil industry. (1)
The Sierra Club Green Jobs Campaign is focused on:

- Work with labor unions to ensure the fair treatment of workers.
- Stop global warming through the creation of green jobs that are good for our families and the environment.
