Part of the Sierra Club's mission statement is "To explore, enjoy, and protect the wild places of the earth." In keeping with this intention, the Volusia-Flagler Sierra Club offers regular, free excursions where one can join like-minded individuals to experience our many nearby wonders.

If our outings have a motto, it is simply "Just go!!" There is always a reason to stay home, cut the grass, wash the car, or watch a game on TV, but trust us, you are missing the real action...and a lot of fun! Some of America's most unique wilderness areas are in Florida. So put on your sneakers and some sunblock and join us!

Founded in the late nineteenth century, from its humble beginnings as one of the country's first environmental groups the Sierra Club has grown to be a nationwide organization. Our local outings allow members a chance to explore the spectacular world of nature that is only minutes away. For example, there are more springs in Florida than there are in any other state! This gives us endless streams, rivers and lakes to enjoy and photograph by kayak, paddle board, or canoe. We also go on hikes and bicycle rides to see a magnificent variety of plants and wildlife that can best be appreciated in their natural surroundings.

In the words of the Sierra Club's founder, John Muir, "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." So come along and escape for a few hours. We keep the groups small, which makes it easy to meet new friends. Experience the adventure that is waiting once you get off the road. Hope to see you soon!!
