Ya han pasado más de ocho meses desde que los huracanes Irma y María devastaron Puerto Rico, y la isla aún sigue esforzándose por recuperarse. No estamos listos para confrontar una nueva temporada de huracanes, pero en el continente, al público le importa más los tweets racistas de celebridades que las miles de vidas que se perdieron en nuestra isla.
Puerto Rico importa. ¿Puede ayudarnos a correr la voz? Puerto Rico todavía necesita ayuda para recuperarse de una manera justa, equitativa y resiliente, pero nos han olvidado.

Decenas de miles de personas han salido de la isla, posiblemente para siempre. Nuestra red eléctrica sigue siendo frágil, y hemos tenido que pelear duro para que FEMA no retire su apoyo básico de la isla.
Un reciente estudio de Harvard University develó que el saldo mortal de los huracanes María e Irma excede los 4.645 muertos. Pero la historia sobre la cancelación del programa televisivo de Roseanne recibió 16 veces más cobertura en los medios de Estados Unidos que el reporte sobre los muertos en Puerto Rico en el mismo periodo.
Si nos toca otra intensa temporada de huracanes, miles más podrían morir debido a la falta de financiación y preparación que hemos sufrido. Ayúdenos a resaltar nuestra lucha. Comparta nuestro mensaje con familiares y amigos. ¡No deje que se olviden de Puerto Rico!

It has been moer than eight months since hurricanes Irma and Maria devastated Puerto Rico, and the island is still struggling to recover. We are not ready to face the dangers of a new hurricane season, and mainland America cares more about racist celebrity tweets than the thousands of lives lost on our island.
Puerto Rico matters. ¡Puerto Rico importa! Will you help us spread the word? Puerto Rico still needs help rebuilding in a just, equitable, and resilient way, but we have been forgotten.

Tens of thousands of people have fled our island, possibly for good. Our power grid remains unreliable, and we've had to fight to keep FEMA resources in place for basic support.
A recent study by Harvard University ust this week a study found that the total deaths from hurricanes Maria and Irma likely exceed 4,645.1 And yet, a story about the cancellation of television show Roseanne was covered in the U.S. media 16 times more than the death toll study in the same period.
