Beyond Coal Utah

Utah took center stage in the fight against dirty coal plants last November after the Environmental Appeals Board ruled that the Bonanza power plant permit in Eastern Utah violated the Clean Air Act by not regulating CO2 emissions. It also gained national attention in July 2009 when Intermountain Power decided to pull the plug on their new power plant, marking the 100th power plant defeat for the National Coal Campaign. But our work is not over, with three power plant proposals still on the table, the fight continues. We need all the help we can get - if you're interested in insuring the people of Utah have cleaner air to breathe, join our social networking site, Climate Crossroads, to start your own grassroots movement and find others who share your concerns.
