Austin Roll Beyond Coal group shot under solar panelsTexas has far more proposed coal fired power plants than any other state in the country -- 12 and we have the most carbon dioxide and mercury from existing coal plants -- 17, than any other state in the nation.  However, Texas is the leader when it comes to renewable energy production from wind and we can do the same with solar!  By stopping new coal plants and phasing out old dirty coal plants we are rebuilding our economy and energy infrastructure,  creating clean power and green jobs, saving our natural resources, and protecting the health and viability of Texas communities.  We can only do this by working with you--Sierra Club volunteers and friends.  Get involved today!

Make your Comment to EPA by this Monday, November 23!

Ask the EPA to Take Bold Action in Texas: The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently ruled that the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has been permitting coal plants and other major sources of air pollution illegally.  The EPA is seeking public comments RIGHT NOW on the steps and decisions and we need you to take action to show strong public support to hold TCEQ accountable.
