Job Title: Climate Campaign Roving Organizer/Western Region Department: Conservation/Regional, Las Vegas NV Reports to: Organizing Manager Context: Carries out the strategies and activities for assigned climate campaigns and programs in assigned targets and region. Participates in the development of strategies and priorities. Scope: The Climate Campaign Roving Organizer coordinates an innovative, grass-roots, grass-tops, media and broad coalition effort on climate issues in key districts as assigned and in the region. Travels extensively to key target districts for intensive short term campaign activities designed to move key targets. Changes tactics and target quickly as campaign changes. Knowledge and Skills: -- B.A./B.S. degree in Environmental Studies, Political Science or a closely related field. -- 1-2 years’ experience in the environmental field that includes research and organizing campaigns, press relations and public speaking. -- Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and proof of auto insurance required. -- Good written and oral communication skills -- Prior experience and ability writing training and information materials. -- Prior experience and knowledge of the legislative process. -- Demonstrated ability and effectiveness working with volunteers. -- Able to travel frequently.
