environmental organizer to support our ongoing campaign for smart growth and
transportation solutions in Northern VA and Metro DC..
Position is based in Northern Virginia. Community/grassroots
organizing skills are essential. Must be a self starter able to manage multiple
tasks with a basic understanding of growth and transportation issues. Must be an
able facilitator working with volunteer leaders to set regional priorities.
Initial six month position. Annual Salary: $35K.

Job Title: Chapter Coordinator
Chapter: Virginia Chapter
Reports To: Chapter Chair, Chapter Director, or Designated
Volunteer Leader
Supervises: Office Volunteers and Interns
Context: The Chapter Coordinator handles the daily administrative
operations of the Chapter office and acts as an information center for the
chapter. Recruits, trains, coordinates, and supervises volunteers for office,
Chapter and other activities.
Scope: The Chapter Coordinator is responsible for providing office
management and administrative functions. Implements programs and activities as
determined by Chapter ExCom to enhance member effectiveness and involvement.
Works with Chapter leaders and staff to develop and implement programs for
volunteer identification, recruitment and training to support various chapter
activities, programs and office functions. Supervises office volunteers and
interns. Acts as an information resource for chapter volunteers and the general
public. Maintains the Chapters records, purchases, supplies and equipment.
Processes invoices for payment and monitors the annual budget.
Knowledge and Skills:
-- Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of organizations and
volunteers.
-- 2 years general office administration experience.
-- Proficiency with computer programs including word processing, spreadsheets,
and database management.
-- General bookkeeping skills.
-- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated public speaking
ability.
-- Ability to interact effectively with volunteers, members, staff and the
general public.
-- Able to travel as needed to develop volunteer outreach and
meet with groups across Colorado.
