SIERRA CLUB ANNOUNCES 2008 BOARD ELECTION RESULTS
San Francisco, CA - Sierra Club members have elected five of their peers to the 116-year-old environmental organization's Board of Directors.
Joni Bosh of Phoenix, AZ, who currently serves as the board's treasurer, was re-elected, along with incumbent Barbara Frank of La Crosse, WI. Larry Fahn of Mill Valley, CA, who served as President of the Sierra Club from 2003-2005, was also re-elected to the board.
Two students were elected to their first terms on the Sierra Club's Board of Directors, making this the first time in Sierra Club's history that two college students have served on the board. Nathan Wyeth from Brown University in Providence, RI, and Jeremy Doochin from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN were elected to the board.
Sierra Club President Robbie Cox said, "The Sierra Club prides itself on its dedicated and talented grassroots leadership, and the five candidates elected today are the cream of the crop. All of them have distinguished records of service in the Sierra Club and in their communities."
